Your tasks
The two rows below are examples. Replace them with your own tasks and times.
Your time and tools
Not sure what your AI tool costs? Compare plans and pay-per-token pricing in the AI Plan Cost calculator, then enter the monthly figure here. Hourly rate: use your pay divided by hours worked, or a billing rate.
Time and value saved
Method: minutes saved per task × how often it happens, converted to a week (per day × workdays; per month × 12 ÷ working weeks), then × working weeks for the year. Value = hours × your hourly rate. Net = value minus 12 × monthly tool cost. Nothing here uses outside benchmarks; the result is only as good as your time estimates. Live prices: AI Price Tracker.

Frequently asked questions
Where do the numbers come from?
Only from what you enter: your tasks, minutes before and with AI, how often each happens, your hourly rate and your AI tool cost. The calculator does not apply outside productivity benchmarks. The example rows and the example rate are placeholders to replace.
How should I estimate minutes before and with AI?
Time a few real instances of each task, with and without AI, and include the time you spend checking and fixing AI output. If a task only sometimes uses AI, lower the frequency instead of the minutes.
What hourly rate should I use?
For an employee, your annual pay divided by hours worked is a simple start; an employer might use a loaded cost that includes benefits. For freelancers, use a billing rate only if the saved time is actually billable.
How do I find my AI tool cost?
Use the AI Plan Cost calculator to compare subscription plans with pay-per-token API pricing for your workload, then enter the monthly figure. Plan prices there are taken from vendor pricing pages and dated.
Does saved time equal saved cost?
Not automatically. Value is realized only when the freed time goes to other useful work. Treat the value figure as the worth of the time, not cash in hand.
